At a very young age I developed a love for all things miniature, especially cars, trucks and trains. I started building model cars back in the mid-60’s. Going from cars to big rigs. I had a HO scale model railroad in my parents basement for years that started in the early 70’s. Dabbled in the hobbies for years afterwards. Fast forward to retirement, I got back into building model cars and trucks. Due to my experiences with model railroading, I liked to build “distressed” vehicles. A lot of distressed vehicles have no wheels and tires. The one thing I found that was missing and/or unavailable were detailed brake assemblies. I hand crafted a very detailed set of brake shoes, calibers and springs. A local club member suggested I cast and sell them. That was the beginning of what would become Scenes Unlimited. A hobby business I owned and operated for 14 years. After selling the business in 2023 I turned to model railroading again, now having more time and space to work with. The entrepreneurial spirit has re-awakened and I’ve started Precision Scale Works. My goal is to offer very detailed quality products with the same dedication and work ethic I ran Scenes Unlimited.
